Wordtracker and the keyword analysis

December 4th, 2007 · No Comments

I did some keyword analysis yesterday and picked up a few keywords from Wordtracker whose KEI were about 200. I then made some blog post with keywords concentrating on these few keywords (related to pets) and also submitted the blog posts to some social bookmarking sites to see if they get ranked well.

The Result: Well, seems like I miss something here. The keyword do have a KEI of over 200 (it was actually 634.22 for one combination with a search volume of about 326 in 24 hours) but I couldn’t rank very well in Google SERP when I check it today. Yes, I also some onpage SEO with my blog titles and meta tags as well. Well, it did come in the second page and that’s why I came here to make this post.

Inference: When you find a keyword with high value of KEI, check how many results you get with those keywords in their title. Then try to check the number of results without the inverted comas. Don’t go for the number of results, instead go for the number of relevant, and in fact, optimized results. If you don’t find many optimized sites in the first page of your Google result, run and make a site with these keywords (of course, provided the keyword has a good market value and it has got a good number of search per day).
